Su Shi’s pen name was Dongpo (東坡).
그는 송나라 사천성 미산 출신으로, 어린 시절부터 글에 뛰어났으며, 동몽 선생과 함께 삼소(三蘇)로 불릴 만큼 뛰어난 문학적 역량을 지녔습니다.
He was born in Meishan, Sichuan, during the Song dynasty, and from childhood excelled in writing, becoming known as one of the “Three Sus” alongside Master Dongmeng.
그는 당송팔대가(唐宋八大家)에 속하는 명문 귀족 출신이었으며, 시뿐만 아니라 서예와 회화에도 뛰어났습니다.
He was from a prestigious family counted among the Tang-Song Eight Great Prose Masters (唐宋八大家), and excelled not only in poetry but also in calligraphy and painting.
어느 날, 절간에서 나이든 미인을 보고 그녀의 젊은 시절과 덧없는 운명을 떠올리며 시를 지었습니다.
One day, upon seeing an aged beauty at a temple, he was reminded of her youthful days and her fleeting fate, and composed a poem about it.
